Back Home, Better Prepared: Caleb Campbell Sets Sights on Victory at CTMP

September 3, 2026

After learning valuable lessons from last season at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, Caleb Campbell returns to his hometown race with greater confidence, stronger preparation, and a clear goal: victory. With more experience behind the wheel and a better understanding of the track, he’s ready to put last year’s challenges behind him and show how much he has grown as a driver.

Q: You raced at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park last season. What did you learn from that experience that you can bring into this year’s hometown race?

A: Racing at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park last year taught me a lot about how committed you have to be around that track. It’s really fast, and there isn’t much room for mistakes, so having confidence in the car is huge. I also learned a lot about where I can improve throughout the weekend as the track changes. This year I feel like I know what to expect, and hopefully I can use that experience to put together a strong weekend at my home race.

Q: Last year’s results at CTMP weren’t quite what you were hoping for. Does that give you extra motivation heading into this weekend?

A: It’s my home race, so obviously I want to have a strong weekend in front of everyone who comes out to support me. I’ve learned a lot since last year and grown a lot as a driver, so I’m excited to go back and hopefully show that on track.

Q: What do you think is different about you as a driver this year compared to when you competed here last season?

A: I’d say the biggest difference is my confidence. Last year, I was still learning a lot and trying to get comfortable with the car and the level of competition. This year, I feel way more confident in myself and what I can do behind the wheel. I trust myself more, especially when it comes to pushing the car and making moves. I think that confidence has helped me become a much stronger and more consistent driver compared to last season.

Q: How have you prepared differently for this year’s race weekend knowing what you experienced at CTMP last season?

A: I feel like I’ve prepared a lot better for CTMP this year because I know what to expect now. Having raced here last season, I already have a good idea of what the track is like and where some of the more challenging areas are. I’ve spent a lot of time going back through video from last year, looking at what I did well and where I can improve. I’ve also been working really hard in the gym this year, so I feel stronger and more physically prepared going into the weekend.

Q: What is it like returning to a track where you know you have more to prove to yourself?

A: I know I’m a better and more confident driver than I was last year, and I’m excited to come back and show the progress I’ve made. At the same time, I’m not putting too much pressure on myself. I just want to focus on doing my job, putting together a strong weekend, and getting the results I know we’re capable of.

Q: How does racing in front of your hometown crowd, family, and friends affect your mindset compared to a typical race weekend?

A: I love having my family, friends, and people from home at the track supporting me, but I can’t let that affect my mindset. Once I get in the car, I have to treat it like any other race weekend and stay focused on doing my job. I’m not going to lie, there's definitely more excitement around the weekend, but at the end of the day, my approach and focus have to stay the same.

Q: What would you consider a successful hometown race weekend this time around?

A: For me, a successful weekend is winning. It’s my hometown race, I know the track, and I feel like I’m coming into this weekend more prepared than I was last year. Obviously, there are a lot of things that have to come together over a race weekend, but I’m here to win. That’s the goal, and I’m going to give everything I have to make it happen.

Q: After last year’s experience, what message would you give yourself heading into this weekend to make the most of the opportunity?

A: I’d tell myself to stay confident and just trust what I can do. Last year I learned a lot, and I’m coming back with more experience and a better understanding of what it takes to have a strong weekend here. I don’t want to overthink anything or put extra pressure on myself just because it’s my hometown race. I just need to stay focused, take it session by session, and make the most of every opportunity.
